We take great pride in providing our customers with friendly hospitality. The Barn Restaurant and Tea rooms, are run by Neil and Karen Hornsby and their friendly team who have been providing hospitality to Oakham and Rutlanders for over 25 years

Neil is the chef/proprietor. His former employers include the Hilton Park lane, Hotel intercontinental ( Frankfurt-am-main ) and the Duke of Richmond. He is passionate about his cooking and loves to source local and international ingredients for his menu. The Barn holds many theme weeks/nights which allows Neil to create different dishes from around the world .His wife Karen originates from Erskine near Glasgow and underwent her training at the Forte hotel The Albany which was their Scottish flagship hotel. The couple have a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry and are excited to be back in the town of Oakham where they started back in the 1980's.
The Barn Restaurant serves Lunches, Afternoon Teas and Evening Dinner. Chef/Proprietor Neil Hornsby creates delicious dishes sourced from local and seasonal produce. We offer a variety of freshly prepared dishes at lunchtime and our evening menu features the best Fresh Fish and Aged Steaks.
Exciting cuisine coupled with warm friendly hospitality to make your experience extra special, we have a Baby Grand Piano. Enjoy Jazz with your Lunch, Classical compositions with Afternoon Tea and Romantic Melodies with dinner.

Downstairs is our dining area for Lunch or Dinner. Upstairs is our Loft area featuring contemporary easy seating with a colonial theme. Enjoy a speciality coffee or tea here durign the day or canapes and pre-dinner drinks in the evening. The Loft also has private dining space for up to 30 people.
